David J. Vaughan, Ph.D.

Board Member / Chief Scientific Officer

David J. Vaughan, Ph.D. is a director and the Chief Scientific Officer of Jupiter Biomedical Research, Inc. He brings to the Company more than thirty years of pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry experience, with expertise in preclinical and clinical drug development, regulatory strategy, Chemistry and Manufacturing Controls, pipeline development, patent support, and commercialization planning.

Dr. Vaughan’s role at Jupiter Biomedical Research is central to the Company’s scientific and development strategy. As JBR advances novel therapeutic candidates with potential applications in oncology, antiviral medicine, and other areas of significant medical need, Dr. Vaughan provides the Company with practical, high-level guidance on the scientific, regulatory, and development issues that determine how promising early-stage research can be moved toward formal regulatory pathways and eventual clinical evaluation.

Dr. Vaughan holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Pathology and Biochemistry from the University of Toronto, a Master of Science degree in Biochemistry, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Memorial University of Newfoundland. His academic training in chemistry, biochemistry, and clinical pathology gives him a strong foundation in the scientific disciplines that underlie modern pharmaceutical development.

Over the course of his career, Dr. Vaughan has served as an independent consultant as well as holding senior corporate positions, including Vice President-level roles and Chief Development Officer responsibilities within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries where he has advised companies on product development across multiple therapeutic areas, including infectious diseases, acute and chronic pain indications, central nervous system disorders, oncology, and gastrointestinal diseases. His knowledge and experience gives JBR access to a broad development perspective across both established and emerging therapeutic categories.

A particularly important part of Dr. Vaughan’s background is his work guiding biotechnology development programs through successful regulatory milestones. He has assisted companies in completing development programs that resulted in Investigational New Drug approvals in the United States and Clinical Trial Application approvals in Canada. That experience is directly relevant to JBR’s mission, where the transition from promising science to a credible development pathway requires disciplined preclinical planning, regulatory awareness, manufacturing strategy, and careful coordination of scientific data. Dr. Vaughan’s scientific, regulatory, operational, and strategic experience make him a critical contributor to JBR’s efforts to evaluate, develop, and position its therapeutic candidates for future regulatory and commercial opportunities.

At Jupiter Biomedical Research, Dr. Vaughan provides more than technical advice. He brings the judgment of an experienced drug-development executive who understands how scientific concepts must be tested, refined, documented, manufactured, protected, and advanced within the rigorous framework of pharmaceutical development. His involvement strengthens the Company’s ability to assess its scientific opportunities and to pursue development strategies consistent with the expectations of regulators, industry partners, and potential future collaborators.
